tablo: The Journey.
tablo was born in November 2016 from three main observations.
1) Students have access to the same information that their teachers have
2) All the aspects of learning are “variables”
3) Schools, teachers, parents, and students are tracking grades but not learning
In 2018 we bring the idea to life. Since the beginning, we have always believed that being in school is not the same as learning. And for education to be done correctly, everyone – teachers, parents, students, and school admins – should learn at the same “place”, together and track their own progress.
tablo is on a mission to create tools for teachers to learn, students to learn, parents to learn, school admins to learn, and thereby creating a community of learners.
The social, moral, and economic crisis that Haiti is going through has greatly affected the operations of tablo within Haiti and has pushed the company to look for other avenues to pursue its mission outside of the country.
We thank everyone, mainly the following schools for believing in this vision from day one: Institution d’Enseignement La Crèche, Collège Classique d’Haiti, and Institution Vision Nouvelle.
What’s next?
tablo has joined Abacus.
Today, we are closing the loop in Haiti. We have found a new home. We are bringing the product and design team to Abacus to continue our mission.
As part of this acquisition, we are shutting tablo web application and the two Android mobile applications: tablo élève and tablo prof. The product and design team will have a new home at Abacus to help different EdTech companies refine their products experience and design to sustain innovations that help schools learn.
We hope that at a later time, we will be able to once again support the educational need of Haiti with the same passion and joy!
